: thicknesses. the brand manme is "Oak Hill" and "River
: Hill" So is there anyway to visually tell if it is thick enough? And
: will the colored ones affect the waterproofing of a kayak? Any input is

My experience at fabric stores is, the canvas is pretty thin.
Look for the thickest canvas they have. It will probably only be #12 canvas. Also look for a real tight weave. The tighter the better. Don't know about the color part.
