Wow--less tracking than a Guillemot?? You've set a new standard!! Keep paddling it, look for choppy conditions, like Severne recommended. Look for long, glassy swells out on the Sound, too. Paddle in all points of wind and waves. Looking forward to paddling it at R2K1!

Try some weight in your aft compartment, see if that improves tracking...make sure it doesn't cause leecocking. It might tell you your cockpit is too far forward.

On our San Juan trip, you said the Chesapeake weathercocked on you. I figured it out: I don't think it weathercocks, but it does get broached easily by waves, which is generally in the same direction as a weathercocking effect.
