: I prefer a hard tracking boat, and the upswept bow looks like it may work
: against tracking. Any ideas?
Susan:
I had a chance to test paddle the Shooting Star at the gathering in June. I can't comment much on its handling in wind and waves since there wasn't much of either. The Shooting Star tracked solidly, but was surprisingly maneuverable. I didn't get the impression that the bow would present much of a problem in the wind, but didn't have the opportunity to test it. This is a nice size boat for a smaller paddler. I'm 5'5", 140 lb, size 8 shoe and I felt very comfortable in the boat. This boat is on my short list of Next-Boat-to-Build. I'll be very interested in hearing reports on boat performance from current builders.
