: Susan- I am planning to build a SS soon and also intend to reduce the beam. What I have done in the past with other strippers is to reduce the stations down in a copy machine. On my last Outer Island, I reduced the stations by 2% and left the spacing the same. The result was an excellent boat with slightly lower volume and beam. I like low volume boats for every day paddling. I would guess that someone your size could reduce the volume and still fit in the boat comfortably. Be sure to check for ease of entry and foot room if you do reduce to volume. Good Luck!!
