Also,
Make sure you don't over-clamp. The bond requires some epoxy to remain between the parts being bonded together. It doen't need to be alot, 0.001 inches is probably plenty, but if too much force is used in clamping you can squeeze out all the epoxy and a weak bond will result.
The wood can soak up enough resin to leave a resin starved joint if you don't allow some time for the un-thickened epoxy to soak in before you apply the thickened resin and clamps (not a big problem with ash).
