: If you are going to use the footbrace studs it is definitely easier to
: install them before you joint the deck to the hull (although not
: impossible to install afterward). The plates on the studs need to be
: glassed to the inside of the hull. It makes it much easier in the
: alignment process if you don't have the deck attached. The footbrace studs
: will work with either the Yakima style or the Keepers.

Hi, I used the studs from new found on my yak. I installed them after I joined the deck and hull without too much difficulty. Just layed the darn thing on its side and stuck my head in. I also used an old town footbrace. They seem to work fine and are very strong for a plastic material. Not having used the Yakima footbraces I cant say who's are better, just that ones I'm using are fine.
A note of caution though... I snapped one of the stainless studs installing the braces as the nylon nuts new found provides only go on so far. 10/32 thread I believe. Good luck, Elliott
