Hey there Don,
I'm moving pretty fast on this one but It won't be nearly as pretty as your strip version.

How much cockpit area reinforcment were you going to do? I've never done a plywood boat and I'm not sure how much is necessary. I was planning on a 3" wide 3/4" thick aft deckbeam right behind the cockpit and put the rear bulkhead underneath it for bracing. That should handle the weight of sitting on the back deck for entry and spread out the load somewhat. I am using 1/8" luan.

For the front deck I was going to do maybe 2 curved deckbeams between the cockpit and front bulkhead and one in front of the bulkhead halfway to the bow since there won't be much load up there. Then glass inside and out, 6 oz in and out on hull and 4 oz for the deck in and out.

I might do the whole deck in cardboard to get the shape figured out first, that would give me an idea of how much footroom I'll have etc.

Hoping to get it finished by the end of Sept.

: Ben, thats exactly what I'm intending to do with my strip one. To make the
: rear deck flat, and the fore deck rounded similar to a CLC. Just enough
: clearence for feet, and then flatten it up at the bow. I'm also thinking
: of trying to recess the rear of the coaming a little, so that the top of
: the coaming is flush with the rear deck. Havent worked out the details on
: that yet, nor have I bought more glass / epoxy. I thought I'd put the
: permanent deck beams in just forward and aft of the cockpit, and temporary
: ones to shape the deck. Then strip, glass outside, remove and glass the
: inside using the deck beams to hold it's shape. Then remove the temporary
: beams, install the bulkheads, and do the seams standard. Ive got a ways to
: go, and budget forces me to choose between better winter attire or glass
: and epoxy.

: Did you add any rocker?

: It sounds like you are a little ahead of me, and will finish first. Oh well.
