I too was surprised to see so little fiberglass when I opened the box for my stitch and glue kayak kit. However I do believe that the people who sold it to me (Pygmy) have been quite successful so you do have to put some faith into what they reccomend. Their reputation and livelihood are at stake.

So I'm curious since I just walked in the house from glassing the inside of the hull on my Queen Charlotte 17. How much if any does the expoxy add to the strength of the boat since it does dry fairly rigid. I'm not advocating not using fiberglass just curious? And would it be benificial to put more than one coat of expoxy on the surfaces that don't get fiberglassed?
