Why use foam at all? Couldn't you run stringers over your forms and apply shrink wrap? That would give you a multi-chine shape that you could use to lay up s-glass and kevlar for a hull. My understanding is that several layers of s-glass over a couple layers of carbon or carbon/kevlar would yield a pletny strong hull, without the foam. Isn't that how white water kayaks are built?
