Hi Keith -
Well, I wear neoprene rubber-soled booties when I paddle. There's not enough room for my Teva's. I sit with my heels more or less touching on the keel and the balls of my feet resting lightly on the pegs. My feet are extended forward just a bit so I can push with my foot to get more power into my paddle stroke.
