I suppose it really matters more on the particular boat you are building. Does it have an internal stem? You may not need a full endpour but maybe a small fillet to insure the deck to hull seal done with a syringe or something like that since you have more wood for the grab loop holes etc.
I think the endpour is a quick, easy solution to the problem of sealing the halves in a hard to reach area though, I did it on my Guillemot and plan to do the same for the plywood walrus I'm working on. Just lean the boat up against a tree and dump in a cup full of epoxy thickened with stuff (whatever), wait a couple of hours, rotate and repeat.
