: I know that some tools
: are not worth economizing on, (...and Fein sander)but .
I bought an old Miller's Falls 52B on e-bay (low angle, adjustable throat, etc., just like a Stanley 60 1/2). E-bay is a good source of a lot of old tools at good prices. Also a woman named BarbKat sells a lot of 5" velcro sanding discs regularly on E-bay for $8.00/hundred (SIA-a swiss brand).
One comment about sanders....I always was fascinated by the Fein, but couldn't justify the $$'s. The local wal-mart had some B&D "mouse" sanders marked down to $20, so I bought one. Wonderful tool, as I had to sand some window casings prior to exterior painting recently. Buy BarbKat's velcro discs, and cut your own "mouse pads"! (Nope, I'm not affiliated with any of the people/companies I mentioned).
