I tested this with my Millcreek. I built two sets of bulkheads, the herefore called strongback ones with corner (chine) cutouts for filleting made from thick plywood, and the real sea going bulkheads without corner cutouts and thinner plywood. There was a lot of stress placed on the strongback bulkheads, necessitating my screwing them into position whilst I stitched the beastie together. After filleting and taping, I then removed the bulheads, and not a darn thing flexed or shifted on the hull. Just to check, I reinstalled them. They simply dropped into position. I then installed the real bulkheads.
