>I've built a Chesapeake 18 as soon as the plans were available, and i was not cheap with the epoxy during construction. i used about 1 1/2 gallons. I even used 6mm okoume for my 3 bulkhead (3, because i added a day hatch). The final product including the seat, the large hip and thight brace, the footbrace and even the big sylva 85 compass, weight under 52 pounds. You must have done something wrong. What can have save you some weight ? -Foam bulkhead -3mm deck instead of the 4mm suggested (clc were recommending 3mm in their old design) -less epoxy pour in the end of the boat -single taping in the bottom of the boat

Except for the bulkhead, that is almost everything i did to keep the weight down and it work!
