There is a very informative book on Inuit paddle design and construction which is now available from CLC. The book isn't real fancy- basically xeroxed, handwitten text and illustrations but has lots of good info. At $7.50 the price is right too. You can talk with them at www.clcboats.com. I will be building my paddle to propel my Chesapeake 17 kit which just arrived. First, I am having a friend bring his 17' kayak over to see if we can get it in and out of my basement. Just a quick show of hands, how many of you had the "boat in the basement" problem? :-)

I just found this board by accident and want to thank you all for the great dialogs. I have yet to begin by boat but the tips I have received here have made me a lot smarter and somewhat less nervous. I'll keep you posted and am sure will come to you all with some panic pleas for advice.

Brent
