Arnold You can recover the older folbot with #10 canvas on the hull and #12 or light weight vynal on the deck. It will decrease the weight of your Glider considerably and still be quite seaworthy. The canvas will never be as smooth as the Folbot hull but the Glider is certainly not a speed boat anyway, so I doubt you will care. I build skin boats very similar to the old Folbots and we do very well in them. They were popular when I was a kid and I have been building them ever since.
