hull shape for fast single

I would like to know what an ideal hull shape would be for a racing/fast cruising single in glass/kevlar/carbon. I would like to produce a 20' boat that was approximately 20" wide at the cockpit. I know from a good deal of whitewater experience that speed and stability are inversely related. With a narrow boat like the one I've desccribed, would a shape similar to the classic Greenland hull suffer from excess drag? Is the turning advantage of hard chines going to take away from the sraight line speed.
