It's an infant sized one. It has a large cusion that extends up behind the head to support head above water. Also has crotch strap. You want one that turns kid face up. The advice about keeping it on around the dock is IMPORTANT. I don't let my kids on the dock w/o it.
I used to work the Jungle Cruise at Disneyland. I've seen a kid fall between the boat and the dock. He sank and disappeared just like a pair of sunglasses dropped overboard. It scared the hell out of me when I was on the dock w/ my kids one day when I thought what could happen. I had to turn around and take the family back ashore and reserve that part of the harbor for another day when we had PFDs.
