Great list. The plastic wire ties are great when steam-bending stems, ribs, etc. over a form. They are quicker, easier, cheaper to use than tons of c-clamps, etc. I use them to do the initial holding of the wood to the form, then tighten everything up with "real" clamps afterwards.

Vise Grips are just as useful as you mentioned, but I have seldom used them without cutting my hand between the thumb and forefinger when releasing the grip from something. The automatically adjustable pliers from Sears, while not having the locking function of vise grips are also great, but expensive.
