You mix the two parts up and it is brushable for a good long while, at least three hours, I guess. I've never waited to see what happens if you don't use it! Once you put it on, it will dry tack free in an hour or two depending on the ambient temperature and humidity. If you leave your finger on it for a few seconds, though, it will stick. Wierd stuff that way. I've painted over it as soon as it is tack free and never had any problems. You can paint over it anytime after that at all. The epoxy cures for good after about three days. You won't notice it, but supposedly the molecular reaction is going on for that long. If you coat it with epoxy within the cure time, you will get a molecular, as opposed to a mechanical, bond between one coat and the next. Not that it matters too much, since it is such a stable surface anyhow. Varnish or epoxy will stick great to it. Hey, and if you tell my secrets to other forums, well, tell them to tell Steve Smith I sent them... maybe the bum will give me a discount! LOL
