I saw what I believe is the program you are referring to. It was the 'Woodwright's Shop' on PBS which sadly is no longer on. The host of the show (I forget his name) also wrote several books, one of which has a section on the kayak. The books are still published - you could go out and find it, or if you wish, e-mail me your mailing address and I will send you a photocopy. Be warned, these are not plans in the usual sense, but just a general guide to doing this yourself in a creative way. I think you could just wing it and do fine. Make sure to post a picture when you are done.
