> Paul Jacobson Dave: for my money I would strongly consider using 10" round Kayaksport hatches, such as found on the Nigel Dennis Romany. Having operated for a week out of my Romany, I can attest to their dryness and ample size, and the 10" round hatches just appear a bit less obtrusive. Round hatch covers seal much more consistently (waterproof) better than the oval VCPs. There is also something to be said for having the same size hatches fore and aft. Great River Outfitters list these hatches. Don't forget to pick up one of their neoprene or nylon emergency covers too.
