: In previous boat-building projects I have used peel ply as a means of
: obtaining a smooth finish over fiberglass cloth. The fabric flattens out
: the resin and prevents slump on sloping surfaces. I don't see any
: reference to it in the archives, except in assocation with vacuum bagging.
: Is anyone using it in non-vacuum glassing applications?

I have tried peel ply occasionally. It does create a smoother surface. I find however, that you are much more likely to end up with small bubbles trapped in the weave. Air does not move easily through the peel ply and the peel ply keeps the bubbles down in the weave instead of rising to the surface.
