I built a Cape Ann Storm and also a Cirrus Hybrid before Vaclav had the hybrid design. The strongback will guarantee a fair and true boat. It will also make building the boat much easier since you will have stable forms to work with. My experience with Vaclav's plans/instructions is that he does not add unnecessary steps. I used an external box-beam strongback and shelf brackets to align the forms. Another way to look at it is that you'll have you're strongback built, waiting for your first stripper!
