Thanks for the responses guys,

As I research this, I'm believe that Defender switched the labels on 2 of my samples, between the Xynole and Olifin. I also got some Dynel and Vectra.

The Dynel and Xynole both appear to be "twisted" polyester fibers, they are both "soft" and "clothlike". When wet out, both take lots of resin and are not clear.

The Olifin and Vectra appear to be "straight" extruded polypropylene fibers, and look very "glasslike". These wet out similar to glass except not quite as clear.

With my samples, all 4 oz layed up on a 4 oz glass backer, w/o wood, both the Olifin and Vectra appear to be stronger, ie, it takes more force to break the fiber, then glass, and it takes more force to push a sharp object through the sample. They also tear much harder then the glass.

I think I'll make a couple more larger samples on strips to see which looks better.

Thanks again,
Dan
