: I live in southeastern michigan (oakland co.) what and where are good places
: to purchase wood? any sugestions

The Western Red Cedar Lumber Association has links to members, including a Fingerle Lumberyard in Ann Arbor. Their web site is:
http://www.fingerlelumber.com/

For more lumberyards in Michigan ( and OHio, and other states as well) which are members of the WRCLA, and should therefore have a good supply of red cedar in stock, look at the WRCLA web page: http://www.wrcla.org/about_us/certifieddistributors/usdistributors/usdistributors.asp#mi

I suspect that some of these companies may be wholesalers who might not want to deal with supplying just a board or two, but if that is the case, then ask them for a lumberyard near your location which they deal with. Then jsut trot over there and place an order.

Hope this helps.
