My first layup was scarey, too!

I started building with a kit that I spent more money on that any other kind of do-it-yourself item I had purchased before. I stood in front of the hull thinking about how I was going to ensure that I got it right. My solution was to read the manual at least 5X and get plenty of advice from the good folks here at Guillemot. Then...I did it, laid the cloth over the hull, trimmed it and just did it. I started in the middle and swept the flowing epoxy towards both ends of the hull using brush and squeegee. After some time, not sure how many hours, minutes or seconds, I was done. I examined my work and it was all good, no bubbles except a couple that were easily smoothed down. My cured layup looked wonderful, as if I had been doing it all my life.

Worry not, Jorg, just read the manual until you can visualize the work in your head then trust that you can do it.

I hope this helps.
