I don't know what skill level I possess, but what I do have it time!

I also have the availability of a brand-spankin' new 2-axis CAD/CAM cutter at work that's begging for some use. It's basically a very small exacto-knife blade mounted on a rotating spindle, which in turn is mounted on a travelling crossbeam. It can cut wood up to 1/4" thick, so I believe that the 2mm oak will be not be a problem. I'll get the paper-backed veneer, although with the machine cutting at 20,000 strokes per minute , it really doesn't put a lot of sideways stress on the wood, so I don't believe splintering will be a problem.

I'll trace this onto my deck, and inlay it. Shouldn't take me more than 3-4 months!

: Good thing you have all winter, you may need most of it. I love the idea.
