Hmmm, lots to do & see in Annapolis, too. Bring the family!

My feeble memory is failing me, but my boat has 2 layers of 6oz over the bottom of the hull, and 6 oz wear strips extending to the the stem & stern. I also used small, solid cherry blocks to shape the tips of the stem, stern, & cutwater. I take this boat to rocky places, and the cherry is a lot tougher than cedar or mahogany. It looks cool, too!

All of the above adds a bit of weight, but I'm still at 42 lbs, rigged & ready for the water!

I try to be nice to my boats, but do paddle in rough conditions. Interestingly, I'm much less paranoid about damage/scratches in my wood boat than I ever was in my Kevlar boat. Wood & varnish are much easier to fix. However, if I'm going somewhere really dumb, I still take my SOF. Indestructable!
