I am sure that you already know this, but thought I would mention it...

Are you looking at the 'flattened S' part of the rocker that builds the internal skeg into the stern? On my ply frame version there is a lot of rocker, but the keel does hollow quite a bit between the 2 and 5 ft points from the stern...This forms the internal/built-in skeg shape at the stern.
