I have the Pentax W20 and have had very inconsistent somewhat dissapointing results. I have an older Optio that I really like so I may have just got a bad camera. I have also found the water seal not to be everything they claim. It was handy on the Lake Powell trip that had constant rain and I have had some fun with underwater pictures. I have an underwater housing for my older Optio and it blows the W20 away in underwater image quality but the housing is bulky. I would probably go for a point and shoot that is not waterproof that can fit in a small dry bag. Many point and shoots have much better response time and image quality now and the close up and wide angle shoots are very good and convenient. If you are really serious about pictures I think the Canon 40D is about as good as it gets. An almost pro camera in a small size. It is a true improvement over the 20 and 30d not just a marketing scheme. I have already sent my letter to Santa on that one.
