Finally, almost exactly a year after starting I finished my new kayak. My friend named it Wave Dancer last winter. I took a bit of a chance for this kayak and tried to design it using Kayak Foundry (Great Program! Thanks!) and so far I'm very happy I did. I've had the kayak out twice this past week, once on flatwater and once in the bay/ocean, and it handles great. It tracks well but turns fairly easily, has amazing secondary stability, and shows almost no nice of weathercocking (at least so far). For the first time I used Kayak Sport hatches and will never go back to using wooden ones. They are very easy to open but almost completely waterproof.

The kayak is 18in wide and 16ft 7.5in long, although it was supposed to only be 16ft. I'm still not sure how I added the extra length. It also weighs about 35 pounds.
