I am having trouble finding reviews on the Bluefin by shearwater. The little I have found does seem to be positive. I have heard that there was a change in the location of the cockpit and I was wondering if that change was an big improvement(correct me if i am wrong but i think it was a tracking problem).

I am about to finish my Bluefin 18' that I purchased last year (final coats of varnish and rigging out)and I would like to get some input from other Bluefin owners. There is so little written of the Bluefin, I think it is a gorgeous looking boat with an aggressive looking bow and sharp lines.

I was worried about the fit due to my size, I am 6'-1" 225lbs but I did try a dry fit and I found it to be very comfortable. I had to call Eric with a few questions (this was only my second build) and he was a complete gentleman and very knowledgeable.

It weights in at 39lbs at the moment, that is with an added retractable skeg but that is without the seat, knee braces, deck rigging, compass, or varnish so I would be happy if it was under 45lbs completed im hoping less. If there are any other Bluefin owners on the forum I would love to hear some reviews, and I will be sure to give a review as soon as I get this machine in the water. My main question is has anybody taken one out in the Atlantic yet and how does it fair? Plus any performance reviews would be great.
Thank you, Brian
