: Probably a stupid question, but is it difficult to make a hard chine kayak
: strip built? I've only built S&G's so I know not of which I speak....

I built three hard chined Black Pearls this year and learned a few lessons... I think they're easier than curved hulls. Because of the flat panels you can use square cut strips (no bead or cove). The hard chine defines the hull. I tried different stripping routines with each boat, like starting at the sheer and going up and then trimming at the chine (Pain in the butt). The best method I found was to start at the chine and strip down, in-fill the bottom and then trim the hull to match the deck. You can also strip from both the sheer and the chine and in-fill between them.
