Actually, I said 1846 'cuz that's when my great-great-great-ad nauseum grandfather came to Texas from Germany, a trip he made by rail. It's true, he was seasick the whole voyage. Anyway, I've closely studied the history of hurry canes dating back to about then.
Humberto isn't entirely unique, but was still exceedingly strange. Sorta like me, I suppose, who is of more like a 1959 vintage.
