: At 220lb and 6'4" i find it very
: roomy (almost too much...) I've caught the bug and am looking to build a
: second boat for my wife (but one that I can use now and again too). The
: problem is she's much smaller and lighter than i am,

So, without getting yourself in trouble (why do they care so much?), how much smaller than you is she? I've read some comments lately on this board from female builders who have expressed how wonderful it is to have a boat that actually fits them. Perhaps that might be the best route - chose something ideal for her rather than something that's a "one-size-fits-all" compromise as you noted. If you happen to be able to squeeze into her boat for a day paddle, well that's good. If not, then you have your first boat to use instead and if it isn't ideal, well then I suppose you'll need a third boat! ;)

Having said all that, I built the guillemot because it's a good size for my wife but I can fit into it too.

Cheers,
Bryan
