: Trying to find a kayak that is about 17 feet long , 21 to 22 inches wide and
: that will surf well and handle 2 to 3 meters of sea on a 3 or 4 meter
: swell. Day and over night paddles only. The composite boat I was looking
: at was the Impex force 5 as an example. Can be strip kayak or s and g
: Please put me in the right direction. Thanks tim

Most of Nick's designs are great, look at the pics of where he paddles. We have had My Guillemot 17 standard and my son's Artic Tern 17 out in those condition with a solid 20 to 25 knots of wind, lots of fun. The Guillemot is a bit more fun in the surf, turns quicker and will go under the water on your bottom turn without catching on the chine but may be apples and oranges. Paddled with a guy that did big ocean trips with his Night Heron and loved it.
Just my two cents,Don
