The King is a very capable boat in big water and rough weather, but at your size it could be a bit much when things get tough. Something smaller and more nimble is often better than a full size touring boat, so I'm building the Golden for exactly those conditions. Look at all the experienced paddlers using boats like Romany's and Avocets in waves and current. The Golden falls right in with that group. A small King might work out as well, but I've never seen or paddled one.

Check out the photo taken two weeks ago at Cape Flattery, Washington. Seven of us (including two Kings and a Silver) had a great day messing around the caves and rocks. It hard to see at the scale shown, but three kayakers are in the photo. I will have more photos available as soon as I add them to my site.
