I played around with it a bit more, and it's not as stiff as needed. I'm going to add a layer of 6 ounce outside to cover the open wood and add depth and stiffness, and then probably a layer of mat and 5 ounce tight weave inside. The carbon fiber sure looks cool with the red stain!
