Mine have held up fine. I used clear Vinyl from Wal-Mart, though I'm not sure
they still sell vinyl. Yesterday I received an email from a paddler who
kayaked for a couple weeks in Alaska this year with homebuilt clear
Vinyl / HH-66 glued drybags. He says they held up fine...no leaks.

You can just as easily use PVC ( vinyl / woven polyester / vinyl ) . PVC
should be even more durable if you think that's a requirement. PVC and vinyl
are one in the same but I say PVC when referring to "cloth supported" Vinyl.
