: Hi All;

: It's about time to do a bit of surface refinishing and repairing. Over the
: years I have used both automotive wax and "303" on the boat.
: What do you recommend I use to clean this off before sanding and
: refinishing? Acetone?

A mixture of household ammonia and water will cut through the wax. The bottle will probably have instructions on how concentrated to mix it for removing floor wax. That should work. Wear rubber gloves. Use a scotchbite, or other mildly abrasive pad. Rinse a couple of times with plain water and let it dry completely. The 303 and any remaining wax (if there is any remaining) should come off with the sanding.

Stay away from the acetone.
