: I have glassed both inside and outside of the hull and deck of my Cape Ann
: double, and am now ready to join them together. But herein lies the
: problem, The stern fits nicely as well as through the middle, but at the
: bow, the very tip is good and back another foot or so. But then on each
: side I have a gap starting small then expanding up yo 3/16" and back
: down again over an area about 3 feet long. Should I attempt to shave down
: the tip a bit, therefore closing the gap? or should i just fill it in with
: as close a match as I can get with wood flour mixed with resin and glass
: the halves together like that. I guess I should mention that this seam is
: bead and cove.

Normally you cut the bead and coves off at the joint between the hull and deck since you'll have to play to get alignment. Most guys wedge the hull deck to get them to fit. You can hot glue brackets on the part that's too narrow and then use wedges to pry the parts into alignment. Not uncommon at all.
