: Sorry Paul, but that's wrong. In lots (maybe all?) standard S&G designs when
: you have stitched the hull panels together the hull shape can still take
: on multiple possible shapes, generally depending on how far apart the
: chines are pushed. If you push the chines apart you get a less V'd bottom
: and more rocker, and vice versa. You absolutely do need several temporary
: stations along the length of the kayak to ensure the shape ends up as the
: designer intended. In my limited experience this is particularly needed
: near the bow and stern. Read the instructions for building the Point
: Bennett on Duane S's Roll or Drown website for a good description: the
: station nearest the stern needs such force to hold it into place, as it is
: doing such a significant job in changing the hull shape, that temporary
: screws are needed to hold it in position. I'd personally suggest 5 or 6
: stations for a typical length kayak, others may have different view.

Surf over to the CLC site and look at how they are built, and they are by far the biggest. No station forms at all.
