Incredible post, very useful. Thanks for your effort and this will be put to good use. It's true that touching on professional practices in boat building will be an important part of this - my tendency is to do this all myself, but I should really be including students in the process.
The photo is very interesting - I'd always seen female forms used for infusion, i.e. with solid walls. The frame-style female form is a great idea that I could implement (and modify) easily with hand tools. I'm looking over the F-boat site now. I particularly like the vertical seam approach with no gunwale seam. I'm also trying to wrap my head around vertical foam stripping, which is looking like it may be the way to go also.
So thanks a million, and I'm going to try to document the process. I have a 1/4 scale sof model that needs re-skinning and further testing to get a working full-scale design, then it's off to the races.
