: I hope this is the most challenging part of boat building: I've been trying
: to get 4mm 1088 okoume in RI (an abundance of marine supplies, wouldn't
: you think?). My local lumber yard said they could get it (and deliver),
: but by the time I ordered a couple of days later, the distributor was sold
: out. I did some calling around and I'm told 4mm isn't the most popular
: around here and "don't know when we'll be gettin' some more. . .,
: it's imported ya know" I think a trip up to my old stomping ground in
: Somerville is in order. Now, if I can only fit a couple 4x8 sheets in my
: brother's minivan . . .move over kids! Finding the materials has been a
: fun sub-project all its own; I think I've been to some dingy lumber yards
: and managed to convince most of RI that I don't know what I'm doing. But
: I'm havin' fun!

: Rob "oh no, not another homeowner" P

The thin stuff probably isn't as popular. Now if you were building with 1/4", 3/8", or 1/2"...

Looks like Ben has a source for you. You might also want to check in the archives or go to your favorite search engine and type in "Marine Plywood"

Soon enough you'll have your plywood and will be asking about fiberglass sources. I look forward to seeing the post.

PS Don't forget about door skins. They are a readily available alternative :)
