Becareful with the amount of heat that you use so that you do not cause the glue joint to fail between strips. Their is a thread about a person who had a buldge on the side of his stripper and the general consensus was due to a heat gun.
I am not an expert but with what I have read and been able to find out I have choosen to sand down through the glass and epoxy on my kayak to redo the glass. This is a long process requiring a lot of sand paper and you have to watch that you do not cause depressions in the wood.
Maybe some one who has done more with a heat gun will give you some pointers because that way may be allot faster.
