Just wanted to say Hi, and thank all you folks for the great questions and information.

I've just completed a cedar strip canoe, just in time to put it away for the winter. I have resoved to make two kayaks this winter (I'd be happy to finish one given the time it took for the canoe). I beleive I should start with a S&G, and seee how long that takes.

I have 3 Strip build books, Nicks, and both of Ted's. Is there a good S&G book out there? If I decide to build Nicks S&G Gillmont can I glean enough info off the web, esp. this board?

I'd really like to pick up the plywood today. I found some 1/4inch Cherry veneered stuff. Will this be exceptable material? I hear about looking for voids is there a way to do this in the store before purchase?

Can't wait to get started.
