Paul, you are pure evil :)

I have not considered a skin on frame... until now. If I knew of a good folding design I'd surly get it. That way I could get my Kayak to an ocean with out paddling thousands of miles, or a portage over the Rocky mountains.

I ran out and bought the New Kayak Shop last night... for some reason I'm really tired this morning.

I've been eyeing the Gilmont ever since I started my Canoe last fall. What a georgeous boat... wow! The Gilmont that is. Now that Speed is a factor I'm switchincg the the Stich and Glue version so I can have one done for sure by spring.

Here is final start decesion hurtle. I weigh 185lbs and am 6-3. how much room does that leave for gear in the Stich and Glue Gilmont? (I may switch to a larger CLC design...) Who knows, maybe I'll need enough of a cargo hold jump in the milk River here, and endup in the Gulf of Mexico... Ok Ok just enough room for an occasional 1-2 week expedition. However I'll stay with the Gilmont even if there is enought room for a long weekend camping trip, which will be semi-common event.

So far the only places I've found with Okoume Plywood are Widsor Plywood, and a place in Edmonton (300km away) called Boat Craft (check out www.boatcraft.com). Any one know of any other local places?

Again thanks

Myrl
