: I just don't know where to get 3mm okume in the SF bay -
: McBeath's doesn't have any, and won't order it. I'll keep looking...

That's curious... a few months back I picked up a sheet of Okoume from MacBeath for a larger front hatch on my ChesLT18. I thought it was about 3mm, maybe 4mm.

They had some Okoume and other marine plywood there as well last weekend - I didn't take close note of it since I was there with a lady looking at hardwoods & material for a stripper. (How's that for a date? ;) )

I'm surprised MacBeath wouldn't even order for you. Maybe one of the marine supply places could order the Okoume. Maybe Svendson's in Alameda? Might be worth a call. You might also check Eco-Timber or Truitt & White in Berkeley.

Good luck in your hunting & with the boat. Hope to see it sometime when your finished, since we're sort of neighbors. (I live a few blocks from MacBeath)
