You actually may find an external strongback by looking at some websites. Check:

The picture shows the external strongback. When you turn the kayak over, you leave the forms attached to the hull (easy with staples and typically enough hotglue with stapleless) and place the kayak in cradles on the strongback and start stripping the deck. Believe me - it is easy. The big advantage of the external strongback is that you can knock the forms out when you done with fiberglassing. No crushing of the edges. This is what sold me in addition to a much stiffer platform. I actually build Tom Moores strangback for Joe's return. I liked the even bigger platform.
